Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, selects, picks and packages medications and supplies in preparation for shipment to patients. Performs record keeping functions. Assists in various inventory control processes as needed.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for duration of shift (8-10 hours). Must be able to repeatedly lift 5-10 lbs. for duration of shift. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30-50 lbs (REQUIRED). during a shift. Reaching and grasping objects at various levels is required. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to utilize a keyboard and operate departmental machinery.
Work Environment
Employee regularly works near and around moving machinery (conveyor belts). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be required to wear protective clothing or equipment.

Position Summary
This position takes in-coming calls from members, providers, etc providing professional phone assistance to all callers through the criteria based prior authorization process. Maintains complete, timely and accurate documentation of all approvals and denials, and transfers all clinical questions and judgment calls to the pharmacist.
Duties
Selects, picks, packages and labels medications and ancillary supplies per prescription, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist in accordance with the CVS specialty guidelines and pharmacy laws.
Accurate counting of medications utilizing a manual process as well as any automated counting devices.
Exercise proper hands sanitization and hazardous medication handling practices.
Performs functions &/or responsibilities of an Operations Assistant (packer-20% of the week)) as needed.
Responsible for preparing and/or restocking the filling station with medications and/or supplies as needed.
Responsible for cleaning all pill counting devices/equipment and general working areas. center experience; preferably in healthcare, social services, or a similar service position.
Experience
REQUIRED: Six months of work experience as a pharmacy technician.
Prefer three months of work experience in a pick/pack/ship environment.
Prefer three months of work computer experience.
Able to utilize computer applications to enter data accurately and in line with production standards.
Knows drug names and basic pharmacology knowledge and law.
Understands medical terminology utilized in a Pharmacy.
Able to collaborate with others to fill and ship accurate and timely orders.
Must be able to recognize limitations on decision-making scope and be able to escalate issues falling outside of that scope.

Education
Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
