Key Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly and professional support to members, providers, and other callers throughout the criteria-based prior authorization process.
- Maintain thorough, timely, and precise documentation of all approvals and denials, while escalating clinical inquiries or judgment calls to the pharmacist team when required.
- Recognize and communicate clinical questions to the pharmacist team as necessary.
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned, including managing faxes, sorting mail, overseeing email correspondence, and maintaining the Computerized Account System (CAS).
Required Skills
- Strong communication capabilities with an emphasis on customer service.
- Attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with prior authorization processes is essential.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or GED is required.
- Experience in prior authorization processes is preferred.
- Previous work experience in a call center environment is advantageous.
