NV Pharmacist license within 3 months of hire.
The successful incumbent will have the ability to assess a variety of complex situation and determine the most effective means to resolve situations. Leadership skills in decision making, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal relations are involved in the daily contracts of working with department directors, physicians, staff, visitors, and vendors. Is responsible to set the climate for cooperation between co-workers and shifts for a smooth-running operation. Requires judgment/action that could impact the patient's outcome.
Additional Responsibilities Include
Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Only after NV licensure is obtained (designee holds the following responsibilities until Director obtains licensure) Acts as the "Managing Pharmacist", who is responsible for compliance by the pharmacy and its personnel with all state and federal laws and regulations relating to the operation of the pharmacy and the practice of pharmacy.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy required. Doctorate in Pharmacy preferred.
Experience: At least three years previous pharmacy leadership experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
Licenses/Certifications: Current Nevada Pharmacist License within three months of hire. Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) with the State of NV following NV License within three months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association within six months of hire. Certificates of Completion for both FEMA IS-100.C and FEMA IS-200.C required within three months upon hire (effective 7.1.2023), and every three years thereafter. Certificate of completion for Handle with Care training within 30 days of hire.
Physical Demands: Occasional prolonged standing/walking; Occasional heavy lifting of supplies/equipment, 20-30 pounds.
Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
