PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Performs professional pharmacy services to hospitalized patients, outpatients, and provides pharmaceutical products and clinical pharmacy services throughout the Region. Pharmacy services are provided in accordance with regulatory agencies and The Joint Commission requirements.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of at least of full five-year course leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree in pharmacy from an approved pharmacy school, completion of one (1) year internship, at least five years' experience. State of Alaska Pharmacist license and Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
- Must be familiar with federal and state requirements for maintaining Pharmacy compliance and accreditation.
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned unit. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span (e.g., pediatric/adult/geriatric) and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the assigned unit's policies and procedures.
- Must have Tribal or Critical Access Hospital experience.
