Overview
As a Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our healthcare facility. Your expertise in pharmacology, medication dispensing, and patient counseling will be essential in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to our patients. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations while effectively managing inventory and providing medication therapy management. Key responsibilities
- Dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Providing medication counseling to patients regarding proper usage and potential side effects
- Conducting medication therapy management to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes
- Reviewing and interpreting physician orders
- Monitoring for drug interactions or contraindications
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant pharmacy laws and regulations
- Compounding medications as required
- Maintaining proper inventory levels and ensuring appropriate storage conditions
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
- Participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Providing immunizations and other clinical services as necessary
- Documenting all interactions and interventions in the patient's health record
- Contributing to the training and development of pharmacy support staff
- Participating in on-call and after-hours pharmacy services as needed
- Keeping abreast of the latest developments in pharmacology and pharmaceutical care
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution
- Current and valid state pharmacist license
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program (preferred)
- Strong understanding of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards
- Experience in a clinical pharmacy setting (preferred)
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology and medication therapy
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Demonstrated experience in medication dispensing and compounding
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
