As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring veterans receive the medications and pharmaceutical care they need, making a difference in the lives of those who have served our country.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients.
- Maintain medication inventory and perform medication restocking.
- Ensure accurate labeling and packaging of medications.
- Process prescription orders and perform medication order entry.
- Provide excellent customer service to veterans and healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold VA Hospital policies and regulations.
- Assist with medication storage, quality control, and compliance.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Education. High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification. Senior-level requires certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- 3 months minimum experience.
- Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
